大和川には1960年代中ごろまで大阪湾から遡上した天然遡上アユ(海産アユ)が生息していた。しかしその後の水質の悪化のために姿を消した。近年水質が改善され,時折,大和川でアユが捕獲されたが,海産アユか琵琶湖産の放流アユ(湖産アユ)かの区別が困難であった。そこで我々は2004年と2005年に大和川で採集したアユについて,耳石中のカルシウムに対するストロンチウム濃度比を用いた方法により海産アユか否かを解析した。その結果,分析できた18個体(2004年3個体,2005年15個体)のすべてが海産アユであったので報告する。さらに今回の分析から大和川の海産アユの遡上時期と遡上体長の推定を試みた。|The ayu fish had been going up to the Yamato River until the middle of the 1960's from the Osaka Bay. Thereafter, it became extinct due to the water pollution. Recently, the quality of water was improved and the ayu fish was sometimes caught in the river. However, it was not clear that it was going up from the Osaka Bay or not. We examined samples caught in the river in 2004 (n=3) and 2005 (n=15) by using otolith Sr/Ca ratio method. As a result, we concluded that all samples were going up to the Yamato River. We also estimated the date and size of the fish when going up in the river. |
